How the calculation works
The calculator uses these simple formulas:
Tip = Bill × (Tip% / 100) Total = Bill + Tip Per person = Total / People
Where Bill is the pre-tip amount, Tip% is the gratuity percentage, and People is the number of diners sharing the bill. The tip is calculated on the bill before tax in most regions; adjust your input if you tip on the post-tax amount.
